The Stands

"Oh, now, now," Rowan's smirking, patting Atticus on the head in that way he knows he absolutely loathes, as he looks back to Abigail. "Yeah, we've known each other since we were both Atticus's height. Hopefully you understand that as his friend I was merely doing my part to continue to corrupt him. Only the best."

Rowan lifts a hand to his head dramatically, as if the weight of the Wizarding World were on his shoulders. "T'is a rather hard duty, usually he denies my advances."

Abigail looks at Atticus nervously, not 100% sure how to reply. She starts biting at her inner lip a bit. "Hey man if I interrupted anything important I can uhhh leave. I'm stubborn enough to figure it out on my own." She scratches her head and laughs a bit.

Rowan's not stupid. He takes in Atticus's disgruntled expression and Abigail's apprehensive stance. He smiles, stepping back from the two.

"Well, uh, since I know you lovely folk have lots of studious behavioral tactics to get up to," he picks up his discarded Charms book, "and I'm really needing to get to Defence Against the Dark Arts, and class is in about thirty minutes and it's a trek to the classroom."

Rowan smiles at Abigail and gives a little half wave, before turning and starting his jog back towards the castle, leaving the two to their own devices.

Atticus turned inward on himself, repeating his usual 'Juststopbeingsoweirdgodammitgetittogether,' mantra. Coming back to reality, he noted Rowan's tone. "Don't misund-" he began, but gave up as his friend left.

He sighed, running a hand through his hair, "No, hey, it's no trouble at all." He gestured back towards the castle to Abigail, "Shall we?"

"Oh..uh..okay. I'm sorry. Wanna head to the common room and maybe we can practice there? It's this damn Glisseo. I just can't get it." Her shoes had dried by then, so she slipped them back on her feet. It's a good thing too, she just started to notice how freezing the wood felt.

She started to head down the stands, "So is he always like that towards you? Or just around others?"

Atticus wrapped his scarf around his neck to hide his flush, from the cold and embarrassment. "No, that's pretty much how it is. I think he just likes to watch me squirm sometimes," he grinned sheepishly, then realizing how odd that may have sounded.

Abigail groaned softly as she tread across the lawn towards the castle. She hated the feeling of wet shoes but her flats were so much more comfortable than that restrictive leather crap. She started to feel terrible breaking up their conversation by trudging in like a huge ignorant troll. "So uhhh do you come out here and smoke often? Not that I mind or anythin'. I know most Hufflepuffs wouldn't see it as okay...but I don't really care."

She looks down and scrunches her nose. Good job moron. Like it's any of your business.
